You are notified of games based on your availability and the distance you are willing to travel. These are settings can be edited in your profile.

The coach pays you the agreed upon rate at the game via cash or a voucher. You set your standard rate in your profile but ultimately, it should be based on standard industry rates in your area.  

Ump-Hire charges you a nominal fee of $1 when you accept a game. No more paying dues or other upfront fees. 

First, ensure your notifications for the app are set to persistent. Second, in your profile update your schedule to include more available days and times or increase the number of miles you are willing to travel for games.

No. The Ump-Hire app is free to download. There are no dues or registration fees to use the app. A nominal fee is charged when a game is accepted.

No. Ump-Hire is a fast and easy DIRECT connection between coaches and officials with no intermediary.

Yes, the coach or the official can cancel a game using the Cancel button in the app. Note that contact information is supplied in the app if it’s necessary to make a call regarding the cancellation. Remember that you are both relying on each other for the game, so we encourage you to have a good reason for cancelling such as bad weather or illness.

If you cancel the game prior to 24 hours before the game, you are refunded the game transaction fee. If you cancel the game within 24 hours of the game start time, the game fee is not refunded.

The game no longer shows as accepted in the app and will again be presented on the Requested Games board and it is automatically sent out to all officials who are available on that date and have indicated they are willing to travel the distance to the game.

If you cancel your acceptance of the game prior to 24 hours before game time,  you are refunded the game fee. If you cancel the game within 24 hours of the game start time, the game fee is not refunded.

Yes, regardless of whether the coach cancels the game prior to 24 hours or less than 24 hours before the game start time, you will receive a refund of the game fee.

In rare situations you may request a game that is not accepted. This could occur when a game is entered in the app too close to the game time not giving officials enough time to respond. It can also occur when there is a large tournament that day. The officials may already be booked or have set tournament days to unavailable.

We encourage you to schedule games as far in advance as possible so that officials have time to accept them based on their schedules. If none of the matched officials accept the game right away, the game is visible on their Requested Games board in the app for officials to view and accept.

On the day of the game, when you arrive at the field, click the Send Arrival Notification button, and Ump-Hire sends a notification to the coach.

Yes. After the game is completed, you are provided with a screen in the app where you can pay your official a Hustle Bonus.

When you uninstall the app from your device, all your personal data is deleted from Ump-Hire.

Yes go to your account page. You will see “Invite Friends.Earn Credit.”  Every person you refer will get $10 in credit to be used toward Ump-hire game transaction fees once they have downloaded and registered their account. You will get $10 in credit once they use the app for their first game.
